NCI CPTACT/Tranche Homepage:

The NCI Clinical Proteomic Technologies for Cancer (CPTAC) project has elected to collect data from participating labs using Tranche as the underlying data collection tool and with a website created by the NIST. Several studies are being performed and the use of Tranche will likely evolve for each study. Currently, a customized Tranche upload tool has been created for use via the NIST website.

If you are citing the NCI CPTAC data set in Tranche, please use this citation information.

The page is divided in to the following sections. Please provide any comments, suggestions, or updates to the Tranche user's list.

A quick method of downloading all raw data associated with a study (i.e. having Tranche use the NIST spreadsheet)

Here is how you can download an entire CPTAC study data automatically using the Tranche GUI.

  1. Get a copy of the summary spreadsheet for the CPTAC study from the NIST website
  2. Launch the normal Tranche tool
  3. Use the download from .csv widget in the "Advanced Tools" section.

Here is a screen capture that shows how to use the Tranche tool. The picture is worth a thousand words.

Help! The upload tool won't start on my computer.

Generally the Java-based upload tool will work out-of-the-box on most computers. We require that you have at least a version of Java installed that was released within the past four years. Most current computers comes with Java pre-installed as part of the operating system. If for some reason you don't have Java installed, you can freely download and install the latest version from Sun Microsystem's website. Here is a tutorial.
