Installing the SameSpots module
The module is intended to launch SameSpots project for visualization and analysis directly from the Tranche network. The application is only available for Microsoft Windows.
If SameSpots is already installed, the Tranche module will not need to install it; otherwise, when the Tranche module is installed, the user will be prompted to determine whether SameSpots should be installed.
Downloading and installing SameSpots
You will need to open the Module Manager to install the SameSpots Tranche module.
Find and select SameSpots Tranche Module, and click "Install Selected Module from Server".
You will be prompted to determine whether to install, find the application on disk, or cancel.
As the installer is downloading, you will be able to monitor the progress. The download may take a few minutes to start.
When the installer is done downloading, the installer will be executed. Note that it may take a few minutes to actually appear on the screen.
The installer will show the progress. Installation may take a few minutes.
When finished, the installer will notify you that it is complete. Unless you wish to launch it immediately, you can uncheck the option to run it immediately.
If you choose to install it anywhere but the default location, you will be prompted to locate the executable.
After the installation is complete, you will be notified that the module was successfully installed. If there was a problem, you will be notified otherwise.
Running SameSpots
Execute from Tranche
After the module is installed, you can launch it from the left-hand navigation bars in the Projects/Files panels.
It may take a few minutes for the application to launch. At this point, you can open or install any existing experiments.
Execute from Windows
To run this example, you will need to download BisWarup.SameSpotsArchive from the Tranche network.
Go to the Tranche home page, and click on Launch Tranche to start Tranche through WebStart.
Once the tool is running, click on Download by Hash String.
A popup will appear. Enter the following hash and select Download File(s):
You can monitor the download progress by selecting the Downloads tab.
Once the download is complete, click on the start menu and select Progenesis SameSpots.
Once the SameSpots wizard loads (this will only load from the start menu, and not from Tranche), import the archived project you downloaded.
You will need to create a new experiment from the archive.
SameSpots will launch the project from the archive.
