Tranche to Peaks On-line

An example tool exists that shows how Tranche data can be directly sent to a Peaks On-line (Bioinformatics Solutions) server. Normally Peaks users must copy data to their local hard drive, then upload the data via a web browser to Peaks On-line. The Tranche to Peaks On-line bridge is an example of how Tranche may be used to store data in a fashion where the user need not ever have a copy of the peak lists they are searching.

The entire tool looks just like normal use of Peaks On-line. Additionally, the Tranche to Peaks On-line bridge will work on any on-line instance of Peaks On-line. By default the public Peaks On-line server is used. Data may be sent to Peaks On-line by using the following link.

http://www.proteomecommons.org/data/peakssearch.html?uri={Tranche Hash}

Where {Tranche Hash} is replaced with the Tranche hash of the peak list file to search. For example, this link would search a peak list from the Aurum data set.

The nice thing about the Tranche to Peaks On-line bridge is that the code is dynamically taking the HTML from the public Peaks On-line server. If Bioinformatics Solutions updates Peaks On-line or a custom version of Peaks On-line is used, the Tranche to Peaks On-line bridge should remain unaffected.
