PRIDE: PRoteomics IDEntifications database (EMBL-EBI)

PRIDE is a database supported by EMBL-EBI that displays proteomics identification information. The developers of PRIDE are well known for their participation in the Proteomics Standards Initiative (PSI), and PRIDE is one of the more well known open-source proteomics projects. The PRIDE website generally does not host all of the raw data associated with an experiment in favor of providing curated forms of the data that focus on the identified peptides and proteins. The PRIDE developers are currently working with Tranche to use it as a storage mechanism for raw data so that PRIDE can easily provide links to such data.

Preliminary work has been done to integrate Tranche with PRIDE. Over the next few months we hope to refine how the Tranche links are used in PRIDE and help PRIDE link to more data in Tranche. Here is how you can visualize the preliminary work.

  1. Go to: http://www.ebi.ac.uk/pride
  2. Paste this into the search box: IPI00295313 and hit enter (or the submit button)
  3. Scroll down a bit and select the first experiment (PRIDE accession# 1), click the download button there.
  4. Scroll down a bit to find the file links.

Notice that the file links use the Tranche HTTP proxy to let users download files directly from their web browser. Here are some screenshots of interest.

This is a screenshot of the preliminary integration of Tranche links in to PRIDE. The links are lengthy, but they work.
