Quick Start: Downloading Data

Launch Tranche from the homepage.

Accept the terms of use for using Tranche.

1. After Tranche launches, you will be prompted to comply with the legal requirements. Click the OK button and you will be ready to use Tranche.

This is the main window of the Tranche GUI.

You will now be able to start using Tranche from the main window of the graphical user interface (GUI).

If you know the unique hash for a project you can enter it directly for download.

1. Choose Download by Hash String if you know the hash of the project you wish to download.

The Download by Hash String dialog box will appear.

1. Input the hash in the Download by Hash String dialog box. If the project is passphrase protected, you will need to enter the passphrase as well.
2. Click the Continue to Selected Files button when you have entered the required information.

You can choose to download the whole project or just selected files within a project.

1. If you desire to download the complete project, leave the Download the whole project option checked. If you only want to download selected files within the project, uncheck Download the whole project option and select the files you wish to download.
   
2. Click the Continue to Save Location button when you have made your choices.

You can choose the location where you wish to download the project or files to.

1. The Download location will show you the path where you intend to download the project or files to.
2. You can change the download location by choosing Change... and navigating to the location you wish to save to.
3. When you have made your download location selection, click the Download... button to download the files to that location.

You can download a project directly from the main Tranche window.

1. Highlighting a project will give you the option to Download on the left. Double-clicking a project will let you see information about the project, as well as navigate to specific files within the project to download.
2. You can download a project directly from the main Tranche window by right-clicking the project and choosing Download. In this pop-up menu, you can also choose to View Contents in order to select specific files for download.
